2011 Fall Life Groups
What is a LIFE group? (Why do we capitalize it?) It’s a small gathering of people where we Listen to, Intercede for (i.e., pray), Fellowship with, and Engage God with one another. It’s an opportunity to talk about life, God, and the things that happened during the week with a small group of people, with whom you can develop close, long-lasting friendships. We have regular mid-week gatherings that usually start with a mouth-watering meal followed by meaningful discussion, and of course, always some fun time of hanging out. We took bible study on the road to Houston where we met up with our students for an exciting weekend of eating good food, playing games, bible study, and trips to the San Jacinto museum and NASA. "Houston, we DON'T have a problem!"

Dallas On-the-Road Bible Study
We continued the tradition begun in 2009, of taking the TFN Bible Study "On-The-Road." this past weekend, to Dallas Texas! Friday night we had a giant Speed Scrabble ice-breaker, TFN Bible study, and a fun round of Mad Gabs. Then the next day, Dallas being the home of the Rangers Stadium, 6th Floor JFK Museum, and HMart (among other cultural icons), we visited each of those places with our Dallas friends and had a good time catching up. We were sad to depart but will see everyone soon again in August. 'Til our next OTR TFN in July - Houston, TX, here we come! Click here to see more pictures from the event.

Manny talks about Envy, “Why am I?”
On one Friday, Pastor Manny dealt with the topic of envy and covered the story of Cain in Genesis 4. One of the topics we talked about was from verse 7, that sin is a malevolent force, crouching, trying to master us (and often succeeding). One of the illustrations Pastor Manny used was from Pastor Joshua Harris, about the beanbag, and small steps we take towards evil... and before long, it’s got us. Here’s the actual video of the illustration—it really gets you to think about evil in a fresh way.

Our LIFE Groups meet regularly to get to know one another, share our ups and downs, and understand God’s purpose for us while just going through life together.
